Fox Hole Trip

Everyone loves our Fox Hole trips

Join us on one of our annual September fly fishing trips to the Upper West Branch of the Penobscot River below Hannibal’s Crossing.

The only way to fish this remote region is by canoe. We use twenty foot canoes and small outboard motors, to haul our tent camp eight miles downriver over the same water Thoreau once traveled and set up our tent camp near some of the best pools on the river. You’ll be fly fishing for landlocked salmon on their fall spawning run at the Fox Hole, Myran’s Run, and the Whore House Pool, to mention a few.

Our tents are spacious, equipped with cots, plus we bring heaters to drive the fall chill away. We’ll bring the ingredients for great campfire food and lots of tall tales around the fire. The night sky is nothing but stars, you’ll fall asleep … listening to the sounds of the river as is rushes by.

Brilliant fall colors, leaping salmon, campfire cooking and good friends all add up to a trip people insist on taking again and again.

The cost is $325.00 per person per day, based on two people per guide, with a three day minimum stay. A 50% deposit is required to confirm any trip.

We are sorry but we will not be offering any
Fox Hole trips for the 2020 season.
