Guide Service – Maine

While fly fishing in Maine you may want to spend some of your vacation time with one of our Registered Maine Guides. They have all been with us for many years and truly know their stuff. Collectively they have over 80 years of guiding experience. All our guides are expert casting instructors. You’ll learn new casting techniques, what’s hatching, fly selection, where the productive water is and where fish hold. Our mission is to help you become a more knowledgeable and productive fisherman. A day spent with one of our very experienced Registered Maine Guides is an education and money very wisely spent. They’ll take your game to whole new level.

Our guide service specializes in drift boat trips on the East Outlet of the Kennebec & West Branch of the Penobscot Rivers for landlocked salmon and brook trout, great bugging for smallmouth in local lakes and fall camping trips for late season spawning runs of landlocked salmon.

Please take a look at what we have to offer. We are in the business of making wonderful memories on the water. Great life experiences that keep people coming back year after year.

We’re been “Serving the Serious Fisherman” for over 40 Wonderful Years.

A Customer’s email after a trip:

Dear Dan & Penny,

Just a quick note to thank you for making the arrangements for our drift boat trip on the East Outlet Thursday. Our group has done three trips over the past several years on both the Kennebec and Penobscot rivers and have had Ian, Mike, John, and Chad for one or more of each. It is a nice feeling to know that when we book a trip with the Maine Guide Fly Shop, the guides will be professional, courteous and fun to be with (plus great cooks!). They all work hard to give us the opportunity to catch fish and each trip is a learning experience.
